Citrusgrove Backpackers Hostel is owned and operated by Robert (Rob) and Merveen Sjollema. The Sjollema's pride themselves on friendly service and warm hospitality, which is why Citrusgrove Backpackers Hostel feels more like a country B&B!

The hostel is located on a citrus orchard in the farming village of Hanwood. Hanwood is just 7 kilometres drive from the heart of Griffith, in the Riverina region of New South Wales (check out the map below).

The Riverina is renowned for it's agriculture and attracts many working tourists every year. From January to March, the grape farms and wineries provide work during vintage. Other seasonal employment opportunities include working on citrus farms, driving the harvesters or trailers during wheat harvest (late October – December), picking almonds or stone fruit or general farm labour.

Citrusgrove Backpackers hostel can arrange transport to and from some job sites depending on the time of year you visit.
